I hate shopping. The casual section is all tees and polo shirts with "west coast surf '66" or things like that sewn in - what exactly does that have to do with my life? I threw up when I tried surfing. There are also - shudder - tank tops with pastel zigzags. Who let them back into fashion? And, well, bugger all else.

Is there any hope for me? Clearly I'm disconnected from some cultural stream here. What to do?

always remember clothes dont look good on everyone, you have to make them look good, have your own fashion, be an indyvidual.

a good place to start is magazines. Most men's magazines, like FHM have a fashion section. if you are not into that sort of thing than the sunday times supplement, names Style will usually feature men's fashion once a week.
that would be your real guide as some shops, probably the ones who have been looking in do not offer you style guidance or how to combine alternative items of clothing. to do this you could possibly go to topshop and ask for advice. avoid the granny shops though.

What i suggest is buying white cheapo t-shirts from tescos or wherever 4 90p or sumthing, and then going to some sort of fabric shop and picking out anything that takes ure fancy. U could then hem the t-shirt with one type of fabric and then do the sleeves? Its an idea!! I dont know what to suggest really.
Check out what people wear at clubs and bars, cos that's where most people dress 'cool' if u c wot i mean. I wouldnt worry bout the fashion sense thing, cos my mum still dressed me at 11!! Im 13!!

Well i really admire you for not wanting to wear clothes mearly because they are 'in fashion'. Some times i see people in some clothes and i think, " this time last year you would never have dreamed of wearing that but you will now cos everyone else is"
Think about the clothes you like to wear and what you feel good in. Then try shopping online or from a catalogue for the type of clothes you like. Also think about the function of the clothes, where will you wear them? Hope this helps.

my advice is to look at magazines in GQ or Men's Health for fashion tips. just make sure that whatever you wear suits your personality, and not because it is the "in" thing. the worst thing you can ever do is trying your best to pull off everything that you see in the stores. some people can get away with wearing some stuff than others. so you never want to adapt to wearing everything before you look like a total fashion victim.

keep the look simple, but try adding on accessories and kick up the style just a notch to add some individuality to your style. i hope i was much help to your situation. good luck!

maybe you do have fashion sense. not liking these items that every one buys makes you different n cool. better than all wearing the same like leemings - Where the hell is 'HAVANA' anyways.
it depends what your into- you don't have to dress in a certain style just get basics- jeans etc from boring shops. but if after funky t-shirts n stuff try sites like www.truffleshuffle.co.uk for something a bit funky and retro. just have a giggle with what you wear. and ignore the trends. don't be another jerk that copys what celebs wear or you will end up with a wardrobe that is 'sooooooooooo last season'

The best solution would be for you to buy tee shirts of your choice and decorated them to your perfection. The zigzags, check shirts, and stripes is a repeat of the worlds fad. Their is hope for you because your taste is different from others;maybe you can begin a new fashion trend just for men in the near future.

just because they sell that weird stuff doesnt mean YOU have to wear it decide what colours suit you and experiment with different fabric materials and shapes you will find its not so much of a shock to experiment with new clothes if you keep familiar favourite colours the same! try it !
