The english language changes over time. Words that once ment one thing can mean a totally different thing a few years later. We don't hi-jack words. Society as a hole changes them and accepts them. I could give you countless exsamples of how words and thier means have changed. If you don't believe me, go ask a High School engilsh teacher some of the most recent changes that they hear every day.

The homosexuals don't know what they want. Look back at some of the questions over the last week. First they say being gay is not a choice...then 1/2 dozen questioners write in saying they "just decided to be gay". Next they say they where born with it, (even though so many say they weren't) but TOTALLY deny that homosexuality could be a sexual disorder such as pedophilia. They deny it is a syndrome or a birth defect, by saying it's "normal" but every gay person I have EVER MET says that they WANT to be straight and agonized over it for years. If being gay is so great...why do they have underground celebrations when some one "comes out"? If there is pride in being gay, why ain't kids THRILLED to tell their parents they are homosexual? I have pride when I get an A on a test...I'm not scared to tell anyone.
Being gay is not normal, the gays know it or they wouldn't try so hard convincing the world it's okay. Homosexuals are like some drug dealers I know. They know drugs are wrong but they hype them up and tell you how great they are to get you to try them.

Hi-jacking words? Who held the gun on the vowels, who pulled a knife on the consonants?
Just for the record many words have more than one meaning - AND words can be used over and over again. It isn't like after saying Pride 3,000 times it can never be used again.
Did you hear the blacks are doing the same thing - Black Pride....as are the Latino's - Latino Pride....
Better call the people from Scrabble - they will want to know about this one!!!

here are the words you used that I think you should think about:
1. "these people"
2. "control" [over words]
3. "abnormal"
4. "sensible"
language has power. It has power because it's the most democratic thing I can think of: nobody owns words, and nobody can define them without common consent. there is no grand conspiracy to take these words and make them into something else: there's just the way the meaning evolved, over time. And maybe that's more important.

What a mean thing to say. Why are you such a evil person? You need to learn the meaning of right and wrong. You're what is wrong. Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual people can have pride, in fact they do, they have pride in who they are. What God made them to be. And straight people started calling gay people gay because it also means happy.
Is writing junk like this what you do for fun? How evil. You should think about what you're doing. You are also going to be REPORTED.

You're sooo misinformed. It's hilarious to me that some people try to interject hate with there comments, and don't seem to realize how profoundly "stupid" they are! Here you go sweetie: GAY: a homosexual GUY: LESBIAN:a homosexual WOMAN: PRIDE your strong belief and celebration of homosexuality; SOCIETIES VERSION OF THE WORD GAY: anyone that's homosexual. WHO'S HIJACKING UNDER FALSE PREMISES . As far as your friends goes they are too stupid to not be ashamed of who they are because they allow Bigots like you to keep them suppressed, when all along you know that you fantasize about being with another guy:) I bet you're racist as well. What's the real meaning of a "N I G G E R"? You have a mirror?

Yeah maybe you have a point, speaking as a homosexual. However society does like to pigeon hole and find convenient descriptions that offend the lowest common denominator and perhaps it is not only homosexuals who like to hi-jack phrases and words to their own ends. Therefore with that logic society lacks imagination when it comes to describing people, feelings, even races and that seems to be the way it always will be.

So you're old and crotchity, and you don't like people who have different value systems then your own. You sound like a real winner, I'm sure you're real fun at parties.
Sex is perfectly natureal and a lot of fun, ********, if you want to live in a celebacy bouble, its your own f*cking problem. I'm certainly not going to curtail my life because the gereatric crowd in walkers is pissy that I'm making different choices then they did. It's call free will moron. What are you going to do? Beat me with your walker? This gay proud bisexual queer scoffs at the idea. And frankly pops, you can blow me.

sure, I agree. Even in Canada we are saying that individuals do not talk an same language. all of us have diverse meanings for issues. yet another social gathering is the french spoken in Paris is very diverse from that spoken in Quebec, Canada. i imagine all of us make a version of English. I nonetheless trust that the British talk real English! ?D
