No, and I think its depressing to use his name and the word 'patriot' in the same sentence. He should go to Iraq and fight for his country. He would probably come back and say, "Darn, I didn't war was this terrible. You know the Democrats were right about this war all along. But I had to go and fight in Iraq myself to realize I was wrong. Sorry America."

Have you ever noticed how Presidents who preside over the nation during a time of war age a lot in office?

In a very real sense, George W. Bush is giving his life for his country now, by undergoing the severe stress that war decisions bring. He knows that his popularity would soar if he didn't have the war to contend with. However, he takes his oath of office very seriously, and the most sacred duty of the Commander In Chief is to protect the nation against attack.

By keeping the terrorists fighting on their own turf, they're too strapped for resources to mount another U.S. attack. A lot of them spend most of their time just trying to elude capture. They have no time for new schemes.

No... and all you need to know to support that answer is that he enlisted in the National Guard during Vietnam, which was what rich people did to stay out of the war.

Bill Clinton did something similiar, going to school in England.

But, what's more, Bush didn't even fulfill his national guard duty.

I believe he has put forth policies that he feels are best for the safety and security of this country and her people - irregardless of the political backlash and criticism or his legacy or the possible consequences to his party affiliation. This is a patriot in the truest meaning of the word.

When he was in the national guard he asked to be sent to vietnam to serve his country there. As president it would be stupid to do that now. As it would for any president.
