a poll is just a majority of all people. asurvey is usualy asking a certain group of people. ithink.

Survey --targets are specific group of people
it is taken by professionals
Example:Pepsi surveys the Pepsi drinkers

Poll ------targets general public
it can be taken by anyone
Example:anyone might raise a poll asking anything
