They did not advance past the group stage to the round of 16. They lost to the Czech Republic 3-0, tied Italy 1-1, and lost to Ghana 2-1. Italy won the group, and Ghana placed second and also advanced.

USA got kicked out June 22 when they lost 2-1 to Ghana.

the u.s. got kicked out by Ghana 2-1. Ghana got an extra penalty shot that basically decided the outcome of the game.
it sucks that Ghana is out. it was cool to see an African team go that far.
the U.S. team needs better athletes. this year the team was lame. I honestly didn't think that this team would go anywhere.

They lost because they are americans and us americans think soccer sucks. I'm sure you were asleep because everyone usuallly falls asleep during soccer. I mean Soccer suck just a little bit more than professional bowling and is about as exciting. I would now like to apologize to any professional bowler that I may have offended in comparing your sport to a sport as gay as soccer. I am sorry PBA tour.
