For general searching, I use Yahoo! (also for maps, images, and video.)

To find something I saw in a Usenet newsgroup, or to find a newsgroup, I use Google.

When I can't figure out a good way to frame my search, I use Ask.com, though I don't much like it. But it'll sometimes give me answers that'll help me phrase my search differently elswhere.

How 'bout you?

I use google.com. I've used it for doing research when I was in college. I think it has a more accurate search engine due to its awesome programming than the others. It's mostly what keywords you type in. If you still have trouble with searching, you should try using quotes for multiple words that go together like "search engine." Or use the advanced search option for google. Go here for tips on searching.
