If I were you I'd go to a store like Coach or Louis Vuitton. They wouldn't rip you off. If you can't find a store near you just go to a trusted chain!
The color and leather is usually off in a fake purse. Also make note of the person who is selling it to you! If you want a trusted online store try:

If you think it is fake go with your gut.
If you are buying it from a friend of a friend, who is selling it "cheap" because they need the money to pay rent...they could be doing just that, or they could be selling a $10 purse for $400.
Designer clothes just like designer purses became status symbols because they are a luxury item. They are luxury items not just because they are expensive but because they are quality items.
Think about the differences between a "Payless" shoe and a designer shoe. The materials, construction, stitching, hardware, and finishing all have significant differences.
The very last difference is what name is applied. *Even with no name on the item you should be able to tell which is fabulous, and which is faux.*
Consider, it the material luxurious to the touch, or does it feel like a cheap couch? Is the item well balanced or does it always fall over to one side when set down? Place your arm through the straps, how does it hang on your arm, is it comfortable or does it dig? Do the zippers function smoothly, or do the catch? Are the pulls, buckles, rings, etc heavy weight and lasting, or do they seem like they could come from a bubble gum machine?
Hope this helps.

Look closely at the fabric and there should be a serial number on a tab inside the purse. Ask to see if it has a serial card.

nicely for starter, no coach handbags fee $20. whilst figuring out to purchase actual coach, it commonly comes with a coach airborne dirt and mud bag, an authentication card, and once you look on the in the bag you would be waiting to be certain the serial No. with a message ensuring its authenticity. you additionally can look on the bag's high quality, surprisingly interior the zipper and the stitches. some knock-offs look so actual those days, this is troublesome to tell actual from pretend. the only way you could assure figuring out to purchase a actual bag is to purchase it from their shops, no longer at a supplier except you're observing figuring out to purchase a knock-off bag.

They have a serial number or Id number sewn into the bag. Besides, the quality of the leather or fabric says it all.

The easiest way is the label inside. If there is one check to see where it was made- usually if its China, etc. it's a fake. You can always chack the designer's website to see where they usually produce products to see if it matches up.

if its a louis vuitton, check to make sure the logo is right side up on one side, and upside down on the other. louis vuitton is supposed to use only one peice of leather.
also, check for authenticy booklet of whatnot, but those can be duplicated.
if it's from the streets, it'll be fake.
