If you like dark humour:

Dead Babies by Martin Amis.
Choke by Chuck Pahlanik

and entertainment that also makes you think:
Lamb by Christopher Moore (the story of Jesus' 'off' years, you know, when he disappears from the Bible for about 20 years, so if you're religious and not open-minded, stay away) - and his new book, A Dirty Job, looks hilarious, but it's still a renter at the library, so I haven't read it yet.

Honorable Mention, just on weirdness alone: Foop! (can't remember the author at the moment)

Lifetime Achievement Award: Douglas Adams

All three by Marian Keyes:

1. Rachel's Holiday (Extremely funny!!!!!!!)
2. Angels
3. Sushi for beginners

(I've read all her books so far besides the latest one. They were actually all hilarious, but these three were the best! Marian Keyes is a bright woman! 'The other side of the story' is according to me her best work so far, it was written so well.)

Kids books:

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales
Over The Hedge

There was a super funny one about the United States that decided they didn't want to be in the order they were so they were gonna go on vacation. That was funny. I wish I could remember the title.

Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams or the Red Dwarf series by Grant Naylor are probably my favourites, there's something hopelessly funny about the whole last human in space concept.
