OK, what NOT to feed it:
- hamburger or any form of beef
- light green lettuce
- cheap packaged foods with dried insect parts or eggs
- too much plant stuff. Babies are mostly carnivores
Your best bet is a high-quality pelleted turtle food or fish food for carnivorous fish (trout chow, for example). You can do live or frozen fish, bugs, worms, etc. as an occasional snack.

You could try meal worms or maggots -- both should be available from a live bait place. Don't use the "Ant eggs" that are sometimes sold as turtle food, they have almost no nutriotive value, and the turtles dont eat them.

awww, how cute. I have a red eared slider, he is about 6 years old. I have always feed him dried up shrimp and reptile food pellets which have vitamins and such in them, occasionally fruit and veggies, that's about all I ever fed him and that's about all he will eat :)
