Try sticking to a theme. Your food and decor can center around it. Play cool music, whatever the kids are into, not your own. Plenty of fun foods like party subs, pizza, finger foods, chips and cookies. Ask the kids what they're into for entertainment. Have a few structured games or events that will keep them engaged. If they get bored they might wander and get into mischief. And don't invite more than you can supervise. You will be held responsible if anything happens to them.

One alternative is to host a party outside of your home. Skating rink, theme park, restaurant, nice hotel. Then you don't have to clean up afterward.
