Lately i've been really lazy. I try to make myself workout but I just don't feel up to it anymore. I used to love running, now it's a chore. I used to love hanging with my friends, but now i don't feel like doing anything, and i screen a lot of my calls. I just feel like sitting here. How can I pull myself out of this and raise my mood?

Maybe you should see a therapist to help you figure out what is the root of your depression? Medication might be a temporary solution too.

I was try to remember that in the end, I am the only person responsible for my own happiness. I make the choice to be happy and do things. It takes a lot of will power sometimes, but I WANT to be happy, so I have to push myself.

the difference

depressed- you are withdrawen an sometimes domt want to be near people an just left alone, you still find joy in things that you do in your life, you feel sad an don't want to hang out with friends as much, you may not eat as much or you may eat more to cope with the depression, you might feel that things are hopeless an womt get better ect.

suicide- you have NO joy in anything anymore even things that you loved to do before an got excited about, you feel worthless an think about giving up, the thoughts of giving up become more intrusive, you may not be able to sleep, you have planned mulitple ways of killing yourself, you think that no matter what your life is hopeless, that the only way to make it better would be to just end it all which woiuld be by commiting suicide

depression can easily lead into being suicidal..if you have experianced thoughts of depression for more then 6 months then you need to seek profession al help. everyone gets depressed an has there falls some time in thier life but if your depression lasts for a long time seek help. there are ways around the obstacles that you face. No one should take thier own life

you should go out an have fun with your friends ect..find things that you like to. also find a professional that you can talk to..they won't judge you an everything you tell them they can't tell your parents..unless your harming yourself or others..have fun

get some sun. The sunlight helps convert seratonin to melatonin (or visa versa) which is a brain chemical that will trigger depression if in low doses in your body (the condensed version). Try St. John's wort. You can get this from a herbal store or a drug store. This is a safer way than perscription drugs to help boost melatonin amounts in your body. This make take a couple of weeks but any drugs will take this long to make a noticeable effect. Force yourself to go for walks in the sun. Try just a little at a time until you can go for longer walks. Depression is chemical in most cases, NOT laziness. Don't let people talk you down, it's not your fault.
Good luck

Well you have already taken the first step and that's admitting you know you have a problem. The next step is facing whatever it is that put you there. You have to talk to yourself and motivate yourself to want to feel, look, and breath better. Everyone experiences depression at one point of your life but, what you do to keep going is what makes you better. Just know that nothing is too bad or too much for you to handle. Make yourself go out with your friends... make yourself work out b/c if you don't you will get even more depressed when you see the results of you not working out. Just think positive.

Talk to your friends about it. I was depressed and almost committed suicide but my friends literally saved my life. Think of how blessed you are to have what you do have. There are so many people in the world who have nothing yet are able to put a smile on their face and have a good life.

Talk to people. Sometimes just have a good cry, that always helps me. But, without a doubt talk to your best friend, that person should be there to help you through this. If your friends won't help, talk to your mom or dad, either one or the one you are closest to. Just do not do anything you will regret.

It depends on what kind of depression you have. Some types only last a day at most, others last a week or more, then some are sort of with you all the time.
Smile. Emotions do not only trigger facial expressions. Facial expressions can also trigger emotions. TRY IT!!

Thank God for all the blessings in your life...are you healthy? Is there a roof over your head? Do you have people that love you? Is there food in your belly? Maybe volunteer at a homeless shelter or at a nursing home...that might put things into perspective for you. If you genuinely have something you are upset about talk to a counselor, if you are just feeling sorry for yourself because you can't afford the latest fad and all your friends have it, get over it. Life is what you make of it darling.

I would talk to a dr. I suffer from depression as well. I have to take medication to help lift my mood. Do you have friends who know you are going through this? Sometimes it just helps to have someone (an outsider) to talk to. Feel free to IM at yahoo using my name on her. It really helps trust me. You coming on her asking for help already shows me you need someone to talk too.
