Contact your county surveyors office. They will be familiar with officially recognized flood plain areas in your county. You can bet that the insurance companies know where the flood plains are in your area since they arrive at a price for flood insurance policies based on this information. If the surveyors office cannot immediately provide you with the information you want, they will be able to tell you where to get it.

Good luck with your search for information.

Is Wayne in Bergen county? If so, I know there are parts of the town that are VERY prone to flooding. You'll see it on the news all the time when heavy rains occur. There are also parts of the town that do not flood. Go figure!
