i dont think so. ive been performing spells on people and animals for years, and no one has had any side effects at all.

It really depends...some can have side effects if not properly worded, some don't.
If you're doing a spell you have to be very very careful of the wording. At least in my opinion. Also, there is always a chance of backlash (it coming back to you). If the person has put a "get what you give" spell on their home where they live, any spell sent to them goes back to the caster..hense..the caster gets the hex instead.
It also depends on the abilities of the caster and how they handle things. It varies from person to person.
