some studies show it takes about half as long as you were together, for example, together 6 years then it takes 3 years to get over him...i am not entirely in agreement, but i think you have to account for all the variables in your relationship...the timetable is completely up to you...what you do need to do is live your life, do new things, meet new people...do not let your ex or your former marriage define who you are

To me the same day the divorce is over ill be dancing the cha-cha and more if it was a bad marriage... ill go the same day to a wonderful spa and treat my self and take it as your first day to start your new life.

There is no set answer. It takes as long as it takes for you to start living your life for you again. It is really important that you take some time on your own to get yourself straight and settled before you start dating again.

for a three year marriage, i was over it in less than six months. it helps wen you realize that after the other person was unfaithful it wouldn't have worked out anyway

to get over it completely, at least half of the time that the marriage lasted.
to get over it functionally, twice the amount of time that it took to be finalized.
