I think we DO have "real" feelings. Just b/c someone else has the same feelings doesn't make them unnatural. It just means that we live in a society of lots of people who are surprisingly similar to us. (Read: we are not all that unique - although that's not a bad thing.)

The same can be said for other species. If dogs didn't lick themselves all the time, would other dogs stop doing it too?

Natural "feelings" are like being near-naked in sub-zero degree weather; I respectfully submit a short piece by Hibbert entitled "The Lostling:" "Cold & darkness, hunger & fear... no time but now, no place, but HERE."

Life around us influences us, but with the mosquitos in my yard clothes are necessary.

I agree. Everyone basically copies eachother.
You know how people say "Not one snowflake is alike"
And they say the same thing about people, But if you think about it..it's not true. We ARE alike. We all do the same things.
