Most online forms, especially for resumes, don't allow formatting other than bold or underline. You must fix it by hand inside the online form until it looks presentable.

Most company websites want a "plain text" version of your resume in their application process.

If you had to "cut and paste" it into a window much like the one we enter questions and answers into here, you will not be able to format in it.

The best thing you can do to make your resume nice is:
Open a new Word doc
Copy your formatted resume
On the "Edit" menu select "Paste Special"
In the pop up box select "Unformatted Text"
Your resume will appear without any formatting
(No bullets, tables etc.)
You will have to use the dash "-" for your bullets in lists
No "tab" or "spacebar" to indent, leave an empty line above the row
Instead of Bold you may wish to sparingly put an asterisk "*"
Basically make it as readable as possible.

Hope that helps.

next time putting resume online, save the file as an html and then open it in the site to have the document formatted correct.

there is no way to fix it. it only resumes formatting in the program it was created in.

It depends on where you're posting it. To be safe, you should save your resume as a text file (.txt), and then post that text file. If the text file is chopped up then you should fix it before posting.

sorry.. you have to do it manually... just paste it in and then go through it and format until it is correct.
