the simplest answer would be metal.
however, he has taken a LOT of influence from bands like Nine Inch Nails, and in most of his music (especially Antichrist Superstar), you can hear the influences if you listen carefully. because of all this, i consider Marilyn Manson more of an Industrial Metal artist, which is a more focused definition than just "metal"

i hate it when they say hes death/goth metal....he varies....."the portrait of an american family" album was dark punk, the "antichrist superstar" was heavy metal, "Mechanical Animals" was alternative and glam, "Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)" was Hard rock and alternative and finally "the golden age of grotesque" was industrial metal with a heavy electronic rush....so manson can be catagorized with Industrial metal, Alternative metal, Hard Rock ,shock rock and Heavy metal

As omit Understood stated, they fall below business metallic and option metallic. besides the actual incontrovertible reality that, i don't think of distinct their music sounds very metallic in any respect. Sounds in the course of demanding rock, in my opinion. yet they do have their percentage of songs that sound in the course of metallic so i don't have a lot problem with them being said as metallic yet when I were to classification them below a particular type myself, "metallic" would not be what i'd placed them below.

I would call him industrial pop metal, because his music is more "radio friendly" than most industrial music, but all those terms are pretty vague anyway.
