If you are using Internet Explorer, go to tools and internet options. There is a privacy tab and then click block popups. If Firefox is your browser go to tools and then options. Click on content tab and enable pop up blocking

If you are looking right at the pop up and you want to get rid of it.Click the X in the upper right hand corner of the pop up's explorer page.

Many toolbars that you can download for free have popup blockers. My favorite one is Google's, which you can download at http://toolbar.google.com/index_xp.html?promo=mor-tb-en.

go to yahoo.com and download thw yahoo toolbar. it comes wit its own pop up blocker(google also works)
