Hi Cirestan,
There are a few points to consider:
1.)The night lights and your dog's life aren't exactly one in the same.
2.) Would he ever ever ever worry, or just run and fetch the ball?
3.) I understand it broke his spirit, but I don't think it's murder.
Therefore, being self-inflicted, I think his suicide could be justified.
At least to the taste-makers.
Although, they will cry and cry. . .
