If you ask me, the whole thing is very ignorant. Don't catergorize someone just because of the way they talk or act..that's what they learned and can't control it. There's bigger things in this world to worry about..let's focus on global warming....

The US is still young in terms of defining itself and its culture. It is somewhere in between the ideal 'Melting Pot' and the realistic 'Mixed Salad' states. To compare ppl a baseline group is needed - in the US the 'dominate paradigm’ is used - those with the wealth and power (eg government positions), which are white males in the US.
With a strong history with the black community many of their leaders have made declarations that blacks are there own race and not to act white (Malcolm X ?).
Another separated group are those who immigrate to the US and kept their own traditions. It is human nature to categorize everything around us. Until the US grows up enough to embrace all we will continue to see bigotry, hatred, and racism (enforced with societal power).
An important hidden idealism to note is that an American is white - which is not the only case. Color of the skin predicts nothing – nurture is in complete charge of this one.

People say these thing because they are speaking out of stupidity. These people like to put people in the white box and in the black box. They can not function if the colors get intertwined. They are not capable of higher thought. They are not capable of abstract thinking. The live in a world of ignorance and cause much trouble in this world with their narrow mindedness.

I agree. People are so caught up in stereotypes they judge before they get to know a person. It's common, but it isn't right.
