36 B is the sister size of 34 C. You can go up to a 34 C. It also depends of how full your breast are. If you have really full breast you might even fit into a 32 D (also a sister size of the other two)
Try different sizes and see what you feel most comfortable in and what gives you the best coverage/lift or whatever you may be looking for. Remember, when you are trying bras on to adjust the straps and hook your bra to the best fit.

The number of inches, 36 or 38, is the measurement around your chest, measure just under the breast. The letter, A, B, or C, is the size of the cup. A 36B and 38B have the same size cup, but 38 is two inches larger around than the 36B. A C cup is bigger than B cup.

in a bra size they're is actually 2 measurements...you may or maynot know this bra sizes go according to measurements around the largest part of the bust and another around under the bust...lets say under the best you measure 34 and your measurements around the largest part of your bust is a 34-these are only 1 inch apart making you an A (34A) if your underbest=30 and your largest part of bust=33 you would be a C because the measurements are 3 inches apart...you see 1 inch different=A 2=B 3=C and so on and to answer your question completely i would not go to a C, 36B...36 is the measurement around your underbust, the B means your bust measures @ 38, a C would be to large

They're two separate measurements. The numbers are the measurement of your chest circumference, usually taken underneath your actual breasts. The letter is the cup size of your breasts. If you're a "b" cup, your a "b", not a c. So, I'd say go with whichever feels most comfortable around your chest. Personally, I dont like to feel constricted.

The "36" or "38" is the circumference around you chest. It has NOTHING to do with your cup size.

From a guy no less, the numbers are inches around and the letter denotes cup size in inches ( a = 1, b = 2, etc..) if you breast is only 2 inches bigger then your chest(underneath) the its a "b" or if its bigger go to the "c"

the difference is in how wide your ribcage is. If you are big boned, you will need a bigger "number" to fit your ribcage. The c cup will increase the actual cup of the bra, but if you're only a b, you will just pop out of it, lol.

the number is the inches around you, the cup size is determined by how much larger your breasts are from first measurement.
