BEST FRIEND,A first step to learn about each other even your fears, desires, wants out of life, through all trials and tribulations, happy or sad,to accept you, not your actions as being you,and much more you get the idea,HUSBAND,ALL THE ABOVE and more wedding vowels is a good start, the bible has the best answer but if you are not there then you will probably draw your own answer, dint know where you are at so good luck on finding out.

I have been married 19 years. My husband is my best friend... no matter what. I had a college professer tell me (before I met my husband) that you have to be best friends before you fall in love, because when the 'high' of love settles, you always have a strong solid base for your marriage. It is the most honest statement I have ever heard. I have been fortunate enough to live this and find it is true (not always been perfect marriage, but always been strong throughout).... hold close to your heart what you know is true.

Well, I am married and my husband is my best friend, but I also had a best "girl" friend for many years until I realized that at the end of the day, my husband was really the only one I could truly trust. I got rid of the friend and I am much happier for it.

usually in some marriages, the husband plays the role of the best friend also. the difference between the two is that your husband is the one you love the most and you always want to be with for the rest of your life. you probably love your best friend also, but the role of the best friend is the person who always supports you and you can always count on them. they are there in your times of need. your husband is your "mate" and your best friend is your guide through life.

There shouldn't be a difference. Your husband should be your best friend.
