Do not put anything on the baby. You can put citronella essential oil nearby (there are some little pads with a capsule that you break and that smells for 8 hours), just make sure this is a natural product, but still the best way is a mosquito net over the bed.

I wouldn't put ANYTHING on your baby's skin. Try to keep him inside, away from the mosquitos, and keep mosquito netting over his crib.
The chemicals that are in OFF and also sunscreen (including baby sunscreen) aren't safe for babies under 6 months old. It would probably be better for him to have a mosquito bite than to be slathered with harsh chemicals at his tender age.

Ask your doctor. But I'm afraid your choices
are a mosquito net.
at 6 months I wouldn't even use the skin so soft from avon without checking with the doc first.
(some tests say it doesn't work any way).
You can get them to cover a complete playpen or basinet.

you shouldn't put anything on a baby other than a mosquito net. If your baby should contact west nile disease it could be very serious.

Nets are not always good becuase babies like to run or crawl around so i would go to the store and ask the pharmasist and i have also been seeing a lot of commercials for insect repelent for babies. my son is now 3 months and commencing at a million month he began spitting up better than time-honored. Is she spitting up better than an oz. after a feeding? if so that's unusual and she or he may be experiencing reflux. My son is on drugs for reflux and is doing lots better. regardless of the incontrovertible fact that, if she is merely spitting up slightly that's thoroughly time-honored! my healthcare expert informed me i became over feeding as properly, new mothers tend to do this : ) shop her larger (as plausible) for the time of feedings. Lay back alittle whilst breastfeeding or pump right into a bottle and supply it to her. They spit up because of the fact the sphincter from their esophagus to their abdomen is immature and does not close good, so shop her larger after feedings for approximately 20 minutes too. And burp frequently! : )

fabric softener sheets. there is a natural repelent in them. i think bounty has a free (hypoalergenic) kind. it works great, i used it on my second child and my father in-law who has eczema and extremely sensative skin used it. you just take a sheet of it and rub it all over including clothes and if the baby is in a stroller or snugli you can tie a few to the stroller or snugli.

With a newborn baby, you really have to be careful. I wouldn't try ant bug spray or nothing, even on small children.
But 'Downy" dryer sheets work very well.
Don't know how it works, but it does!!
Good Luck
