I did a huge project on this in my Modern World class this year. We saw all aspects; water, land, religion, terrorism, refugees and government. Our class couldn't find a way to meet all the people's needs. I want to know what other people see as a solution to the Middle East's biggest conflict.

I don't think there will ever be anything to bring peace there. I am not usually pessimistic about things, but, as a scholar I have been trying to understand this situation. I don't understand why it has lasted for such an extensive period of time, I don't believe there will ever be peace between them, though for the good of all, I hope there would.

Broadway, in this situation, you have one side that is so much more powerful than the other one, so unless the balance is tipped to the middle (no pun intended) I'm sorry to say it will be difficult to find a solution that would be equitable. But one needs to have hope and perhaps out of nowhere a solution will come. That is how many battles in history have been solved = the unexpected, the unpredictable, in which no side had any put into it. Stay well.

The Arab culture (& many other Muslim cultures), do not understand & refuse to compromise
They insist on getting 100%, and nothing less. Which is not compromise.
Compromise and concessions are viewed as weakness, to be further exploited and to be unrewarded.
Ceasefires are thought to be Hudnas, i.e. time to recuperate, rearm, recruit, & then to resume hostilities with a goal of totatl victory.
Muhhamed, did this and it was written in the Koran.
One day the Muslim religion, and culture will catch up with the rest of the World. Until then, we will have to fight them to protect our families and our way of life.
Islam has not experienced a reformation as Christianity, did in the 1500's and on.
Muslims hopes in a refendum is to go back to 625 A.D. (Muhhamed's era to have a whole World of Muslims and the dead who refused to convert, all ruled by a Califf, (a religious king).
We will have to fight them to preserve our families lives of life, our religion, our freedom, our democracies, women's equality, and not have slavery.

There was and they were following it until someone decided to hold some captive. There was also one before, until someone decided to kill two reservist Isrealis just stopping to ask for directions. There was one before that, until someone decided to blow themselves up in the middle of a market square to kill as many Isrealis as they can. Peace will never happen I'm afraid, no matter what 'road plan to peace' they use. The most recent one was initiated by our Government by the way.

The main problem is that the Arabs have never come to terms with the presence of Israel, even despite the treaties signed by Egypt and Jordan. Anything short of the total elimination of Israel and Jews from the Mideast will not satisfy the Arabs.
