How does it not make a difference? The people elected don't make a difference, or one party or the other controls elections?

Wrong It does make a difference. I know that it some times feels like voting seems a waste of time but if you don't vote you wont even have a say. At least if you vote you can say I helped elect him or I voted against him. If you dont vote you're saying I don't care.

It does make a difference. If we had never had Bush, we wouldn't be at war in Iraq, the rich would not have gotten more tax cuts to buy more yachts, we would not have pulled out of dozens of international treaties, benefits to veterans wouldn't have been cut, medicare wouldn't have been gutted, Halliburton wouldn't get every government contract, etc, etc.

That is what, (Some) people in power want you to belive. And if you are lazy enough to say i dont matter then you might as well give your life to someone else (And I dont mean kill youself, I mean let somebody control you like a slave), because you letteing someone make decision's for your livilyhood, and that is what your doing if your additude, outlook, persanilty, willpower, religion, whatever is like your question-

exactly, what difference does it make to vote for:

candidate #1 a right wing extremist that doesn't have any respect for the people that voted for him/her and therefor doesn't represent the will of the people he/she is supposed to be representing.

or

candidate #2 a left wing extremist that doesn't have any respect for the people that voted for him/her and therefor doesn't represent the will of the people he/she is supposed to be representing.

they both horrible choices and both abuse their parties power to exclude moderate independent candidates from debates and elections.

how is that any different from the so called democracies in other countries that let you vote for anyone you want as long as its a fascist dictator.

It seems that the only time that Liberals think that the election process doesn't work is when they loose. I'm sure you thought that it was working in the ninety's.

true, nothing ever chages. both the republican and democratic parties are lying, manipulative lots.

the best is when one candidate recieves more votes than the other but than the govt. says NO THE GUY WHO RECIEVED THE LESSER OF THE POPULAR VOTE WILL BE IN CHARGE!!!

thats the best when that happens

Come on, it gives you the choice to elect from the following:

Bad, worse, or worst.

and Of course we don't want the worst so we pick the "bad"..... at least we know that it could've gotten worse or been worst....
