I have used both bearshare and limewire and LIMEWIRE is A LOT better. If you don't want to install it on your hard drive, you can download the program to disk and just insert when you need it.... I have never had any problems with it.. I have always changed settings in my preferences to only share mp3's and not anything else. Maybe you look over the choices you have in those settings. For free music? Every site w/ free music filesharing is like Limewire. WinMX is another one. If you don't want a filesharing program but are willing to pay $ for songs get iTunes since there's no monthly fee.

www.bearshare.com... its realy fast for me ne ways and there are pop ups with it but if u have a blocker they dont pop up.... and its virus free ive had it for 2 yrs now... and its FREE lol
