I have seen many celebrities break the law and the punishment they get is a joke. On the other hand if a regular person, middle class would commit the same crime, the punishment would be more harsh. Is there two legal systems at work here, why do Celebs get away with a lot, but the regular people get hammered? Take DMX for example, he stole a car in the airport, crashed it through a security gate, and tried to imersonate an FBI agent, a regular person would be rotting in prison right now, but not DMX, why is this so? Sure they get huge fines, but for what they make, it evens out.

I think that the law systems know that they need money and that's an easy way to get it.

Well, it's not just about the "Money," it's about the image that the money gives them that is portrayed in the media. Yes, although Money TALKS, but fact is also, so does the media. Once a Celeb is on the news, then people are watching the news, this means the news channels and stations get money. Once the Celeb is in front of a cop, the Cop is star-struck, wants an autograph, concert tickets, cd or whatever, and the Celeb being arrested will provide the all goods the Cop needs and wants, this way the Celeb doesn't have to pay too much for that crime, whereas a common man would. Also, the common man doesn't have enough money to "donate"/"pay a fine" for his crimes, and so the common man will do jail time, where as the Celeb won't. The money that the Celebs pay in fines and etc, tend to go to the particular department, which will provide for new uniforms, supplies, police cars, and other city uses. Thus, at the end of the day that money spent on the improvements at the police dept. or where ever will be attributed to the Celeb, thus, creating an image in media once again.

Sometimes it also happens that celebrities are treated with utter injustice too,at hands of public. It may ruin their career and life.Take for example--Bill Clinton.A common man would have escaped all the unwanted media attention, but not Clinton.Even if the person (here uve mentioned DMX) were a millionaire, but not a celebrity,he would have escaped, with a fine.A common man too would have escaped with a huge fine, but he hasnt the amount to pay.Thats it.Laws are equal for all.It takes a good lawyer to defend the case.

I agree with you on this. There's so much injustice all around us. People get away with things using money. It's not fair. Our only recourse is to try to stay out of trouble as best we can, because there isn't any justice for most of us.

At this point in my life, "And Justice for All" has only ever applied to a Metallica album.
