This helps you regulate your breathing. I do it when I exercise and I'm never out of breath but you have to concentrate on breathing AND football moves so it might be tough. Breath in through your nose for 5 seconds (deep breaths) and breath out through your nose for 5 second from before, during, and after football practice and it will help you immensely. If you see you can't do this while playing then try it at least all during warm-ups. I'm even able to sing and walk on the treadmill without losing my breath! Good luck!

Drink a lot of water before practice, and soon enough you'll throw it up. Your coach would have to be hard *** to make you keep running after you puke. Other than, just get in shape, my man.

Go to practice and run. You certainly won't get in shape by skipping practice/ working out. That's why you are out of shape right now. Even if you aren't out of shape, you lack superior thoughts, because you haven't been conditioning your body, or, your mind. Get out there and work! You owe it to yourself, your team, and, coaches.

the most important thing to keep in mind: injury prevention and pain minimization
1 1/2 hrs b4 practice till you hit the practice field:
- hydrate: drink lots of water with electrolytes, especially if its hot where you are. this will prevent cramps and dehydration.
1 hr b4 practice:
- take ibuprofen (i.b.), this will help w/ aches and pains during practice and the next day, especially the next day. **LOL**
> 30 minutes b4 practice:
- stretch out, especially large muscle groups.
- rub pain relief balm (extra strength flex-all has 16% menthol works the best for athletes) on areas that you haven't worked out in a while. **LOL** for you, that may mean EVERYWHERE! You may smell to high heaven, but the advantages of doing so are worth it.
during practice
- continue to drink lots of water, preferably w/ electrolytes.
right after practice
- take 2 more i.b.'s
right after the shower
- slather up with balm
throughout the day:
- continue drinking water!
- stretch off and on the rest of the day.
- got knee and/or elbow pain? ellevate and ice it down. after you ice it down, rub flex-all on it, and give it a rest.
Good Luck!

If you arent in shape for it, and you have to do it today, I think that you got a late start. But, I think that you ought to tell the coach the truth and see what you can do. I think thats all you can do really

give it all you 've got and then give it more.....
You do not have to go fast just finish......
as a former football coach I can tell you this most coaches do not like it when someone quits running....
coaches like kids with heart and determination.....
it is ok if you get sick but if you quit you will probably sit on the bench if you make the team.....
