round up the amount spent or do you figure down to the exact penny?

A lot of exact people, but if you round up to the nearest dollar, you will eventaully have more money in the bank than you had planned for. It's a great surprise!!!

Wow everyone seems to do exact. I however round up to the nearest dollar. I've been able to put away a few hundred extra dollars a year by doing this.

Also, if you ever go over, you'll know you have a little extra in there to protect you. To me, doing exact is not good. It only takes a small mistake and your check book is off.

Doing it by the exact number will help you keep tract of exactly what you have spent and how much you have to spend. When working at a job in book keeping or accounting for a business they would never do anything by rounding, you have to know exact figures.

Used to do to the exact penny but with online banking I don't write much down anymore and never balance it out. I just check online monthly that there are no "unknown" charges on my account.

I let the automated bank system do it for me silly I know but hey what else did you expect. If I did though I would round up and then when I needed money I would spend the cents
