Sure... I'm a man and three of my long-term and very close friends are women. We've never even thought about sex with each other even though we've talked about sexual issues in general. They have actually helped me understand my wife better by talking through issues and they say I've helped them understand their guys as well.
In the long run, I guess it depends on the people involved. So many times friendship turns into love naturally.

As genders are opposite,there is always a natural attraction.Men and women can become friends,but then there has to be some repulsion.Too much of attraction makes them lovers.

I dunno, it depends on who you ask because the sexes do not think alike in these matters.
So from a woman you will typically get an enthusiastic "Y E S"
but from a guys perspective..........................probably not.
Men bond with Men for friendship (unless he is gay).
The exception might be that she is not attractive at all, but then a guy really wouldnt bond in the same way with an unattractive female unless there were some pretty special circumstances like going to war or playing on the same sports team in a championship...etc.

Yes they can. I am a straight male who used to work at department stores where the majority of my co-workers were female so naturally friendships, and only friendships occured

Yes, as long as the intimate times like dinner and such are limited or avoided, you have to remember the primal feelings a man and a woman have towards one another...this is what leads to sex and problems.

Yes they can. I have male friends and we do not sleep with each other. Also it depends on the individual if you can respect your friends. My male friends and I hang out go to movies and dinner with out having sex. They do not expect anything back in return. I also take my daughter with us.
