Don't say anything to her at all about this situation. Just ignore it. If she has a crush on your brother then and he does not have one on her, then she will figure that out on her own. It is best if you just leave it alone. If she comes right out and asks you about him, to find out if he might like to date her, tell her he is your brother and you think it best if she talks with him herself. Plus, are you going to be the go between for her and every other guy she may like in the future? Don't you think you would be best helping her by encouraging her to develope the ability to talk to boys on her own? By encouraging her to do so, and when she does, she will begin to develope the skills she will need in life in approaching the opposite sex. If you always do this for her she will never learn, always feel a lack of confidence in this critical area.

The best gift you can give this friend is encouragment to deal with boys on her own, wihtout depending on somebody else to ge a go between. It is best for teens to begin learning how to approach the opposite sex while they are still teens. It is difficult but an important skill to develope. Then when she is older she will have the confidence of experiance and be able to deal with the opposite sex in a confident, mature manner. It is not really that difficult, it only seem so when one lacks any experiance. Just tell her that not every boy she likes is going to like her back, to perpare for getting an "no" answer and to not let it get her down. The sooner she begins practicing approaching boys, and learning how to deal with disappointment the more she will grow and develope a strong foundation for her adult years. This is one of the reason we have the teen years. To practice adult skills in a astmosphere which is lacking any permenance. These teen "relationships" are not going to last the duration of our lives. One day she may not even remember the names of most of the boys she dated or asked out. I know I don't remember many I asked out or dated a time or two.

So, just tell her that she needs to learn how to do this on her own, that you will be there for encouragment and for comfort as needed. Good luck and Blessed Be.
