Columbia, being ranked #4 in the latest US News and World report rankings, is very competitve. The most current information (which generally runs a year or so behind) shows that the median LSAT score for those accepted was 171, and the median GPA in the applicant's undergraduate program was 3.67. Over 8,000 apllicants applied for the 367 spaces available in the 1L class.

Depends on the number of openings, applicants and qualifications.
Just as the previous person said, some of the determining facts include LSAT results, essay application, letters of reference, pervious grades, quotas, if any Columbia is filling, and so on.

You can probably go their website and see what is up. Also, if you live in the area, ask to make an appointment to speak with the recruiting officer and maybe some of the students.

Pretty difficult. It's one of the most difficult in the country. You can find the median LSAT and GPA of people accepted last year, in addition to other information on law school admissions statistics at http://officialguide.lsac.org/docs/cgi-bin/home.asp. But remember that law school admission is not all about numbers, your essays, activities, cultural diversity, etc. have a big impact.
