Exactly!!!
If you are anything like me, you knew this in your soul but so didn't want to believe it that you spent decades searching for other reasons. All of which you tried to find fact and reason in but just never seemed to explain it completely/logically. Escpecially knowing that any rational person would of course not be opposed to so many of the democrat's struggles for the rights of the people.
And I, unlike some of the other morons, know you are referring to the 'current' republican party. And I also know that you are referring to 'prejudices' they don't even realize they have.
Why do I know this? Am I just special?
NO.
I know this because I was one of them! I was a republican until 2002 having been raised in a republican family. My parents used statements like "... I don't agree with discrimination at all BUT... when those ppl try to have more babies and live off the rest of us....."
Or how about, "I think we all should be treated and paid fairly based on our abilities BUT that woman is taking some man's job who has a family to feed..."
I'm glad you have been gifted to be able to 'see' these truths.

rockandroll just proved the point, I think.
"Anyone who doesn't like the Republican party must be a liberal." Perfect example of prejudice in action.
The asker couldn't possibly be a conservative who thinks the Republican party has lost its way, and forgotten that the party was founded to minimize federal government and reduce federal spending.
The asker couldn't possible be a moderate, who thinks too many people in the Republican party have forgotten to be tolerate of differences.
No, anyone who disagrees is the enemy. That's the mindset that the asker was highlighting. Of course not everyone who votes Republican is prejudiced. That should go without saying (but I'll say it anyway).
But the Republican party of a century ago is not the same Republican party as the past decade. The original Republicans believed in smaller government, fiscal responsibility, moderate foreign policy, sensible minimal regulation. I think Republicans of the 1800s and early 1900s would be horrified at some of the laws passed in the past decade. Or the huge federal deficit because of rampant government spending.
It's hard to deny that most of the current political agendas, on both sides of the aisle, are fueled by prejudice. Democrats and Republicans alike. Republicans are more organized, and more coherent, so their prejudices all tend to be consistent -- and usually line up with 'traditional' religious morality. Democrats are more disorganized in their prejudice, so naturally they can only favor the individual.
Republicans used to be about small government. Until they got into national power in the past decade. Then they started pushing their agenda nationally. And that means large federal government, imposing particular values on everyone. And saying your way is the One True Way is prejudice in its purest form.

anti-gay,-- So are a lot of conservative Democrats
anti-immigration,-- They are anti-illegal immigration and so are a lot of consrevative Democrats.
anti-black,-- There are a lot of conservative black Democrats who are anti-gay and anti illegal immigrants. And that black population that used to vote solid Democrat is starting to recognise the same things the Southern Conservative Democrats have. Liberals have hijacked their party and they don't like it.
While you are at it. Think about this liberals keep telling everyone what they can say and do or not do. But you get bent out of shape if they don't do as YOU say. And you get positivly hostile if they tell you want to say or do.
Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander my friend.
And you still don't understand why Democrats lost congress in 1994 and can't beat an idiot(your terms not mine) from Texas. You had better get the weeds out of the Democrats garden before you go pointing out all the weeds in the republicans garden. Right now you are starving because of crop failure.

Are you kidding me. So what is the deal about PRO ABORTION and don't tell me it is a CHOOSE. The only decision a person has to make when it come to a LIVE baby growing in side a woman is that they need to stop being selfish and think only about the possible inconveniences it is a LIFE. And if that makes me anti- ABORTION so be it. Maybe you should think a little more about this whole anti thing you moron.

Yeah it would if you were right. Why don't you read up on what you think you're talking about. It was the Rebublicans who stopped slavery. Republicans are not Nazi.
I'm about as from being prejudiced as can be. I don't remember ever voting with race or culture in mind.
And you think we're anti-immigration because why? Do you know? You don't even know do you?
