It really depends on the Guinea Pig. Guinea Pigs don't actually sleep, they only take short naps then they are up again; eating and pooping. My 6 Guinea Pigs have always slept with their eyes open, its natural instinct because they are prey animals. If they do close their eyes its for very short periods of time, but its rare for them to close their eyes voluntarily; they also don't blink.

I think it really depends on the guinea pig, but they generally sleep with their eyes closed.

They do sleep with their eyes closed. I have 3 of them and have cared for many others - they do cover their eyes for nappy time :D

Closed. But they can seem to drift off, with their eyes open. Just like some people, who stare off into space.

Mine sleeps with his eyes open slightly in the day time.

closed, but you probably wont ever see it because they wake up when they hear sound. my guinea pigs all go to sleep with me stroking them. they use to nver go to sleep because my sister brought her cat over and they had to keep a look out. i had to too.
