is there any way to check the relays for the compressor

Go to the underhood relay/fuse block. I'm not totally sure where it is on your vehicle, but is generally either near the firewall or attached at one inner fender or the other. Find where the compressor relay or relays are as per the schematic, which is either inside the fuse/relaypanel lid, in the owner's manual or repair manual. Remove the relay- it should be a plugin item (if not, you'll have to go to the dealer.
If more than one, remove only one at a time. First, inspect the relay and the place where it plugs in for signs of burning or scorching...that's a dead giveaway. Hook a multitester to both plug tabs. Set at a low setting, see if current runs through it. If it does, replace it where you found it. Go to the next one, if there's more than one. Same thing. If you find one that gets no reading, that's the bad one. Replace it. Also, check to see if your compressor has a fuse in the main fuse panel. Some models do. It could be a simple fix if it's just a bad fuse.
