What is there to do in Atlanta Georgia and how are the people there?

I am moving from New York City to Georgia in a few months and wonders what should I expect to do on my time away from school. I have never lived in the south and want to know what I may expect from my new environment with the people in it. Please be descriptive. Virtual hugs and kisses:)

I've been to Georgia before, it's very green! You see trees everywhere! It's pretty cool there. But I think you'll miss the city if you're really attached.

they have an awesome new aquarium there. its so popular it has a waiting list. my aunt is from upstate ny and moved to atlanta awhile back and she loves it.
