A/C usage does use some extra fuel - but less than rolling down the windows, especially at highway speeds. Depending on the car, usually between 1-3 mpg. Any electrical component left on with the engine off will eventually drain the battery. Unfortunately, you never know how much reserve power the battery has until it goes dead so you could find out the hard way by leaving too much on. As for the third question, if you have seperate switch that turns on the compressor, some foreign cars do, it is best to turn that switch off when you shut off the engine. Leaving it on would probably be less of a drain than leaving your dome light on, but again the reserve in the battery is hard to know.

using air over 45 mph will increase gas milage.
listening to the radio will drain the battery but it takes a long time, the air conditioner will not work with the engine off the compressor will not turn.

yes it uses 15% more gas on low and 25% more on high. It will only drain your battery if your engine is off and aircondition is on.

Yes, It definitely eats up your gas, for the battery, I'm not sure, but I would think that it would drain it.

Not a noticeable amount of gas.........Your a/c wont blow cold air if the car isn't on........turning on anything electrical while your car is off will eventually drain your battery b/c your alternater isn't running to recharge it

1) yes
2)&3) if your engine isn't running, then the AC isn't really working...only the fan to this system is blowing what cool air is left. the FAN will deplete the energy in the battery
