The most powerful force in nature, is nature itself, in which if mankind doesn't treat it with the respect it deserves, then it retailates due to the unbalance mankind has carved from its earth.
As we see today, in South Pole, the ice is melting fast and the rise of the ocean is increasing. Which if we look at the ozone, the heat is not as it was before, sometimes it's hard to breathe and pollen strong, which many more are suffering from hayfever.
The constant tornados, the lack of rain in other parts, but also floods. More floods have happened in the last 10 years than 100 years due to the unbalance because mankind has respected what nature has given them.
So for me, the most powerful force of nature, is nature itself. Meaning, what is mankind made of and where shall they return?
They are made of the earth and back to dust and to the earth they shall return. In away, it kind of shows the wisdom in where society is getting messed up with the home team, i.e. family home, or husband and wife ain't right and haven't got it together there yet.
Mankind is the most powerful force of nature and they have destroyed more than what nature has ever done.

Well depending if you mean most destructive or powerful by strength. By strength, tornadoes are the strongest natural force on the planet due to there extreme speeds and powerful winds; also being there almost impossible to predict. The most destructive disaster on the planet, most would argue earthquakes being they can cause geographical changes to volcanic eruptions, to typhoons. However the most lethal natural force known to man is an epidemic meaning a spread of a deadly virus world wide; which happens rarely. And is the only force capable of ending life on the planet.

Gravity. Many forces can be greater for a short time and escape gravitational pull but will then be attracted by gravity and pulled towards it.
Space shots sling craft close to planets to be sucked in and the velocity increased to fly off even faster.

Black holes in the Galaxies. The attraction force is so much that not even light will escape from it.
If earth gets attracted inside the black hole, it will be squeezed to the size of a tiny atom. Can you imagine?

Anyone of the five forces of nature can cause havoc: they are air, water, land, atmosphere, fire. Natures checks and balances keep them under control. When we meddle with it, the consequences are disastrous.

the forces that hold subatomic particles together
(the splitting of the atom to produce an atomic explosion is one tangible example of this, and there are probably even greater forces than that in the subatomic world)
