Modeling class? Please tell me it's part of a fashion school and not something you paid money for. A reputable modeling agency will teach you whatever you need to know for free or will send you to a person who teaches commercial acting.
But, to answer your question, take a product you like or that you think you could get work promoting, write a script discussing it's merits in the style of commericals for similar products.

I suppose so, maybe something like a commercial for clothing, showing various outfits? Sure, it's a really good idea.

Make one for a local company and maybe you can use for the class and that business, if the local company says no thanks then you can honestly say this was an "un-aired commercial".
