There will always be wars and rumors of wars.

There are probably 2 ends to this war:

1. We stay until the Iraqi's can take over (which might take 5 to 7 more years)

2. Congress votes to pull out, at which time Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi will swoop in and take over different regions resulting in a similar situation to the Cambodian Killing Fields (1 million died) at the pull out of Vietnam.

We shouldn't have gone to war in the first place, but now that we are there...let's let the warriors fight and not the Senators!

The war in Iraq or the war on terror? I'm sure the war in Iraq will eventually come to an end, or at least a stand-still.

The war on terror I don't see any real end to. In the meantime, the white house, or its current occupants, will see to it that our liberties are eroded as much as possible.

The main problem seems to be that a military solution is being applied to what is really an economic and political problem.

"the war" will never end

specific engagements (like the US campaign in Iraq will end, just like the campaign in Korea, or wherever ended, just like World War II ended)

There has always been war. It is rare in history for any country to go 50 years without a war, and in the end, each is a part of the battle that will never end until the world as we know it ends.

All wars end, but to ensure that there is always another in the pipeline, we keep politicians on the premises.

Example. After years of Irish terrorism, we finally get the question sorted. What does Blair do? He goes off adventuring with GWB & brings a fresh lot of grief down on our heads

I did read yesterday, that some of the insurgents had mentioned they would stop, if, the USA pull all it's forces out within two years. Not know that stop anything, but, may be a positive step toward an end.

Probably not. Those aren't scrupulous individuals in your neighborhoods pumping it up. That's called a clandestine community it appears everyone is afraid of and should be tar and feathering them if not worse.

Especially gangsters. It's a shame. I wanted to know the people of my own country well.
