Hey!
I just got accepted onto a teacher training course two days ago (GCSE English) and it has made me so happy! I wasn't sure at first, and thought I'd just apply and see how I got on, but when I was accepted I was absolutely thrilled!
It's a rewarding job, certainly, and everything that you do will have a huge impact on peoples' lives. You'll never have the same day twice and you'll always be learning. I think you should go for it. Even if you decide in a few years that it's not for you, you'll still have made a bit of cash and it's a great stepping-stone into other lines of work, as it shows how flexible and bright you are.

It depends on your motives. Teaching is not the sort of job you should consider, if you're not in love with it. Really, if you'd want to focus on arts but need a job for income, you'd be better of with something 9-to-5ish. The money and the amount of spare time could even be better, though it could also be more tedious as compared to teaching.
Teaching can be rewarding and inspiring, but you'll become your job - and an artist on the side. If your heart is not in it, you could teach for a while (plenty backpackers have fun teaching through their gap years) but you'll burn out easily. A part-time teacher is much busier than a part-time librarian for example. So it all depends on your motives really.

I really can't advise you. I don't know you.
It is a love-or-hate job!! I'd advise you to ask to observe an art teacher in a local school (if you call or write most schools will be happy to help) and see if you think you'd like the environment, kids etc'.
Don't go by the movies ... it isn't like that. Sometimes kids will resent you no matter what, sometimes you have to be thick skinned enough to harness that in their favour. Most kids are great though.

Yes and include Art Design even f you have to take a few more classes. This will make you also wprk for business even from your home and still teach. You can be like the Mdecial doctors who work at the Hopitals and their own clinic
Best to you.

Why do you ask. If you just want a job to make some money, don`t be a teacher. If you want to live with young people, watch them and help them grow up, share some of what you know, keep on learning, and find out how to live on very little $, try teaching. It is a great life.

Only if you are prepared top really work hard, be frustrated a lot of the time and have the patience of a saint.
I just completed my training year (secondary-chemistry) and it is such a rewarding job, so if you think you will be a good teachet go for it!!

There are pro's and con's. I'd say it all depends on your personality. I know that I gave all teachers hell when I was at school and part caused one to have a nervous breakdown. Remember what it was like when you were at school? Personally I couldn't work in that sort of environment. Obvious pluses are the holidays but can u handle the kids?

You'd love it. Kids love Art, and you would never be bored. You could still do your own artwork outside school, and sell it to boost the sad salary you'd get. It's a great job. Go for it.
