Not everybody will agree on everything all of the time.
There are still people who wont believe the world is round. And there are plenty of people who wont believe that we went to the moon. There will always be those out there who just wont admit that the probability of us being alone in the universe so massive is right above absolute zero. But then, there are a lot of ignorant people in this world too.

The whole world? Of course not. Only if you put all others that oppose on another planet then yes. The people who believe there is would be even more right and the people who don't would now be wrong.
This world is based on the discoveries of scientists but that doesn't mean we follow them They proved dragons weren't real but people still believe them. No matter the amount of evidence, there will still be people who doubt. Some people even doubt there was a moon landing, that it was all done with Hollywood magic.

We can conjecture all we want, but until we are presented with actual evidence, it doesn't matter. It is my opinion that no Alien Culture will visit earthlings until we learn how to live without fear of other earthly cultures or types of people. That this will take a world of peaceful, respectful people, says we will have to surprise ourselves first.
