The War on Terrorism. An IDEA not a tangible, physical, winnable war. An IDEA which has led to spying, mistrust, misuse of laws and the ammendments, and the overall dehumanizing of the entire American population- into nothing more than a pack of would-be terrorists who are unwilling to fight for their country. When in reality we are simply unwilling to watch citizens die for a cause which has no cure.
I see it as a form of social repression because very few people are willing to talk about it all, for fear that they'd be called out as terrorists themselves. So maybe this new form of social repression all comes down to fear-of our own country and leaders.
