The new trend in repression is reverse repression. What I mean by that is that in the past a people were repressed and fought for and in many cases broke free of the repression and exploitation.
In today's society you don't see that. What you see instead is a people who break free from repression/oppression and turn the same back on the instigators and in some cases innocent bystanders.
We have gone from a society who prizes freedom into a society who want to be at the top of the food chain. The big difference is all Men can be free but only a few can be on the top.

Social repression is the same, society comes up with norms and mores and try to get comformity through reinforcement!

political correctness in society, I believe it too was overindulged and became obese.
