Southwest -- may not be the most comfortable ride, but the staff have a great attitude (traveling with babies you need people who are helpful / understanding / accomodating) and also it is a great value; $ may not be an issue for you, but I remember with a new baby it was nice to save wherever possible

United is the worst -- the staff, other passengers were so hostile when I traveled with my baby on their flights; Continental was OK

I'm traveling with my baby (who is now 4 months) to India in December. So, every plane ride we took I watched the staff on the airlines.

I'm partial to American Airlines...we've use American and British Airways for many years. And, we do a lot of International travelling. When using American while I was pregnant on my last flight (a four hour one - straight from Ohio to San Fran) I saw how the staff treated small children.

They were very caring and understanding. They let the parents walk up and down the isles with their babies. Helped with bottle warmings and extras the parents needed were on board already. One flight attendant helped a struggling mom calm the fussy baby.

I have a friend that said many years ago they used to have bassinets - but, I've never seen one.

I don't know. But, according to someone I work with = DO NOT fall for the traveling with "infant in arms" thing. The airlines are supposed to sell you the seat at half price for the baby seat, and they all try to talk you into carrying the baby in your arms to be able to sell the seat at full price to someone else.

PS- and to the person who said other passengers/staff on a flight were hostile to them - did you attempt to console your child when they cried? I was on a flight 5 years ago with an obnoxious woman with twins who cried INCESSANTLY for the ENTIRE flight, and she, her husband, AND her nanny did NOTHING. That's when I got mean. When the flight attendant offered this woman Pedialyte for the babies, and the woman asked "What the F is this?" I stood up, turned around, told her it was "baby f-in gatorade and to give it to them!"

I heard from a friend that Jet Blue was the best that she has used so far. She travels quite a bit with her baby and JetBlue was the only one that she has been on that has a changing table in the plane's bathroom.

I'm not sure, but I'll be watching this question so I can tell my travel agent which airline to put on my 86'd list.

I think they're all "baby friendly" it's the passengers who don't like being disturbed by screaming infants and rowdy toddlers.
