Not afraid of getting older, just afraid of looking old. I have kept my youth pretty well going on 34 but I am sure I will not keep it forever.

I hope to never be in a nursing home. I'm a certified nurse aide working in a nursing home so I know what it is like. It's sad to see the people there. Only a few nursing homes are excellent. But if your medicare or medicaid, you get stuck with the nursing homes on the lower range of nursing homes. It depends on the people that work there. There could be really sweet awesome CNAs, LPNs and RNs but you got the really nasty ones too. The ones that are burnt out and have no more patience for the elderly or the people with behavioral problems. That is when it gets really bad. I don't ever want to be in a nursing home. I hope I die in my sleep when I'm old, at home with family by my side. I could go to a nursing home but I would make a through examination of those facilities first. Look for Ombudsman sites, they give you all the details and ups and downs about every facility in the country. It's quite useful. They are jackasses in person but what you get out of it is worth the pain. ^-^

No. I am afraid of looking old when I get old. I have no fear of a nursing home, as I have a loving husband and children. If I ever got a terminal illness I would want to die at home, not in a nursing home.

No. I try to eat and stay healthy. I am not focusing that far ahead just yet. There are many nursing homes that provide residents with excellent care. They tend to be quite expensive, though. Nursing homes can be a very convenient and safe environment for elderly people. For some people it is a good choice.

No, It is an ordinary process for body to get older. About living in a nursing home, I'd rather to be among my family members , but if they will be busy by their life, I'd rather to stay at a nursing home where I can meet folks of same age and same generation that we have things in common , and say, do you remember in 2006 when .... happened :d

I am not at all afraid of getting older, but I am inspired to look after myself well so that I can be as healthy as possible when I am older, to get the most of life; I AM afraid of living out my last years unable to enjoy them, in constant discomfort or pain. I am only 25 but I work with seniors and know many who are 100+ who inspire me.
