TV company advertising revenues are falling as Companies divert spending to other means like internet advertising. The TV companies are looking for another revenue stream and have decided that money direct from the public 'tastes' just as good as anyone elses.

You hear stories about just one person answering the phones on these shows, and having watched a few trying to understand the mentality of the marks calling in you can well believe it.
