to love your stepson as much as you would you own child if you had one mine is 9 I have been with him since he was 6 he thinks of me has mom and I think of him as my own

yes its def possible. you dont have to share the same blood to love each other unconditionally. people who can accept other's children and love and care for them like their very own are few in this world! good for you!

I love my husband more than some members of my family that are blood, so blood is not always thicker than water. When it comes to your children, I have 2 of my own and no step children. I love my children more than ANYONE in this world, I couldn't imagine loving anyone the way I do my own. After years of attachment I am sure it comes close and if you have no other children of your own then you probably love him as much as you know humanly possible, but I have always said since I had my two that you don't know love until you have your own kids. But I will research that and get back to you!!!

I don't think it will be possible to love a step child as much as you would your own. You could have very good maternal instincts and will learn to love the children that you are responsible for.

of course it is entirely possible! I think it is awesome to hear a step Mom who thinks so much of her stepson. In fact, if you are both comfortable with it, why even bother with the step thing??? He is very, very lucky to have such a caring woman 'step' into a very important role in his life!!!
