I'm sure my eyes were okay this morning, however I've just looked at them in the mirror and one is bloodshot on the outer side.
Why does it happen? How can I prevent it?(It looks terrible) and what can I do to get rid of it?

sometimes, if the weather is dry and dusty my eyes get sore and bloodshot. I just use an eyewash like optrex and it clears up in a day or too. Also, if you rub your eye it will become bloodshot, and even pet hairs and allergies will cause it too! Try the eyewash first, then see if anything in particular triggers it off.

Bloodshot eyes can occur from a number of reasons. Yes they could possibly occur from this situation but always remember-there are at least 100 other reasons this could happen including one that you shouldn't even be concerned about-not enough sleep! But yes it could occur.

You can get blood shot eyes from staring at a computer screen for too long because you dont blink as often. Also sleep plays a big part, and how dry your eyes are.

Strain or pressure can cause that.... I once knew a guy whose yes became bloodshot after vomiting all night.... it looked like he was punched in both eyes.

I think it's due to eye strain/being tired/having dry eyes. You could try eye drops and you could take breaks when you're doing long periods of work where you're using your eyes intensively.

sometimes they get bloodshot eyes from doing drugs sometimes they get them from crying or u just get them from being in direct wind or not blinking for a long period of time

not sure of the causes, but maybe u could go to the doctor's and get some prescription eye drops

clean your eyes regularly with a safe and effective eyedrop...
also dont be tempted to rub your eyes with your hands as they can get really dirty...
wear UV protection when you are out in the sun as this causes damage as well :)

sore eyes can be all sorts of reasons, try going to your chemist and purchase chomitone eye drops, cheaper then going to the doctors and quicker it will clear the soreness
