I am working with an attorney to work out visitation for my twin baby girls with their dad - because he does drugs I am asking for strict supervisesd visitation in the beginning and then a more relaxed visitation as we move through their lives. The attorney says I need to do some detective work to prove he does drugs .... I have cell phone bills with his druggie people's numbers - I have tons of money missing and he looks llike crap. Otherwise - how would I go about this? I am not a detective - and oh by the way - I am raising his 4 mos old baby girls and working a full time job. And just as a point of interest if I had know who he was with or where he was during this time of drug use while living together - we might not be where we are today. Anyone else ever been through this or have any suggestions? I guess me and the babies can drive through crack neighborhoods in the wee hours of the morning looking for daddy - I do always complain I never get out of the house. (kidding)

Court ordered drug test? If it has bearing on custody, it can be ordered. Much like court ordered therapy. But that will depend on state of jurisdiction.

The easiest way to get proof is too have a small tape recorder set up and running the next time you talk to him. Ease into the subject of the drug abuse. You will need to get him to admit he uses drugs. Just dont put yourself in a dangerous position. If he looks that bad, try to get a photo of him....NOT holding your twins though. The tape will be good. Talk to you atty about getting court ordered drug testing for him.

Tape recorder....get him to admit it out loud that he is high...or that he gets high. Snap some photos, and make a before and after poster, you say he looks like crap. When you are on drugs, other people can tell, just by looking at you!

my riend went throught the same thing her kids father was a heroin addict but she had to prove it so she hired a detective, it cost her her whole savings however her parents helped her just so she could get him the supervised visits he deserved so that the children aren't exposed to anything. Do what you have to you don't want them exposed to anything.

a private eye, or drug test him.....get the court to do it
